Bridget Leak is a director and co-founder of Queen City Flash which produces Flashmobs, Community, Activism, Fringe and Flash | U theatre.
She is the recipient of People's Liberty Project Grant, creating Desktop Theatre, in which original plays, lesson plans, and theatres small enough to fit on a students' desk were designed, allowing teachers all over the country to integrate the arts into their classrooms.
Queen City Flash received funding from Cradle Cincinnati, ArtsWave and LISC to help mothers in the Price Hill area craft personal narratives that addresses community, the challenges of motherhood and the need for support.
Her production of Slut Shaming at Xavier University won the Ignatian Medal for Outstanding Commitment to Diversity and Social Justice Award. The production was also featured in EdTA's Teaching Theatre magazine.
She is a S.D.C.F. Denham Fellow and Cincinnati Art Ambassador Fellow, which allowed her to direct and produce THE COMPLETE TOM; a new 4 play cycle that presents all of Mark Twain's writings on Tom Sawyer at non-traditional and outdoor venues in Cincinnati.
She toured her production Alabama Monster (winner of the Pick of the Cincy Fringe) in Canada, at the Winnipeg and Saskatoon Fringe Festivals.
Bridget was featured in American Theatre Magazine, "Role Call: Theatre Workers You Should Know." Honors include; Lincoln Center Directors Lab alum, Artist in Residence at Robert Wilson's The Watermill Center, Directing Fellow at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, a Sir Gielgud Fellowship finalist and a S.D.C.F Observer (Cleveland Play House and Round House Theatre), and an Artist in Residence at the School of Theatre and Dance, James Madison University. She is a proud member of S.D.C. and has her M.F.A. in Directing from the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University.
